Taking EXTREME PRIDE in our Military we have chosen to go back to the good ol' days per-se and start our own farm. We are in the beginning stages of it so you can watch us grow! We have had sucessful gardens in the past and now have expanded to support ourselves as well as our community. Baked Goods, Produce and Specialty Items available for purchase here at the farm or at the bottom of this page.
We have our Victory Gardens modeled after the same exact ones planted by the dedicated families on the home front while our boys in green were off fighting conflicts overseas. It is no different from today. We hope to bring that quality back in our little farm. The proof that hard work really does pay off and you reap what you sew.
We produce a variety of vegetables such as but not limited to corn, tomatos, red potatoes, sweet potatoes, yellow onions, asparagus, artichoke, green beans, squash, zucchini, broccoli, carrots, romaigne lettuce, radish, peppers (cayenne & green bell) and fresh peas. These items are seasonal and not available year round. We offer fresh eggs, Finnish Landrace goat kids and fresh crisp veggies from our gardens. In the future we will also be offering miniature cattle.
Without the following people Bunker Family Farms would not be here today. These are very special people in my life and I want to share a little bit about each of them and to dedicate my farm to them.
Love Always,
Melissa

First of all I would like to tell you about a very special man. A man who knew the meaning of hard work and the rewards reaped from it. He taught me everything I know about gardening not to mention a multitude of other things. Papa as he was known to me growing up and to my daughters taught me how to plant, grow and harvest with dedication, love and pride.
He lost his battle to cancer on June 13, 2008. That was a Friday the 13th. I know most people see that day is unlucky but I do not. I see it as the day the torch was passed to me to light my childrens' path and to teach them that with rough hands comes great reward and that soft hands make for a rough life. To take pride in your work is to take in the most of yourself. The land, the seed, the work and then laying that food on your table to feed your family is the biggest reward you can offer up.
Papa, I love you and I will always miss you. Thank you for everything you taught me and I will teach my children what you have taught me over the years. God Bless you and Keep you.

Another special man in my life is my husband. He has stood beside me over 10 years and counting. We have spent alot of time apart physically because of our military life, but I know that just as the military families before me that the wife stayed home, grew victory gardens and raised her children till her husband came home. That is what I do. When we are together it is wonderful, when we are apart it is hard but we persevere. It is our life and we live it and we make it work. You have been all over the world, yes even with me. You have fought for our freedom on more than one occasion. A veteran of two wars and still the warm loving man that I met so many years ago. I thank you from the bottom of my heart not only what you did for this country but for our family as well.
To my husband, I love you with every fiber of my being and over the years we have had our differences, issues and even down right problems but we overcame, grew and prospered. I hope for our children that in life that they can do the same. With a strong father and a dedicated mother I am sure that they will accomplish much in their lifetimes. I couldn't have picked a better father for them.
You are wise, quick witted and worldly. You know how to work with your hands and your house shines with pride for your dedication to this family. I love you so much I do hope you know this and always keep it close to your heart.
To my parents. Mom and Dad, over the years you have taught me alot of things. Some things I swallowed hard and bit my tongue and some things that I embraced with gusto but everything held very close.
Mom, you have always been there since day one. You know how hard life can be and you showed me that anyone can do anything as long as they put their knuckle to the grinder. Yes I have often gotten lectures and even "nagged" but your words did not fall on deaf ears. You have taught me so much and I hope I have made you proud of me. I have tried very hard to come close to what you have done but I know I never will. You are in a class all your own. I appreciate everything you have done for me and still do to this day. I love you with my everything and even with your continued guidance and vigilance I know I cannot fail.
Dad, what can I say. You are the knight in shining armor. No matter how bad you feel you get the job done. Again, Papa's words ring in my ears. Soft hands make a hard life. You are the hardest working man I have ever known. Mr. Entepenuer! You truely have done it all. I am proud to call you my father and humbled by your plethera of knowledge you empart on your daughter. I love you with all my heart and seeing your approval is all I need to know that I have done the right thing by myself, my children, my family and my God. I love you.
My beautiful girls. Talison & Kiara. Momma loves you so much and I hope that you learn all that you can. In this world you need to know the ways of technology, money, finances, health and love. The most important of those is love. Your family loves you more than you can ever or will ever know. You two are two very special girls and will know that happiness comes from lots of things but not so much as your family.
Ever since the moment you came into our lives we have been utterly complete. Without either of you I do not know how I could have lived. I want to teach you so much, to pour all my knowledge into your minds so that you can understand everything. But that is not life. Life is about learning and you have already learned so much, but there is always more to learn.
Mommy and Daddy love you with everything and will do anything in this world and the next to protect and teach you the ways of life. To hold your when youre sick, to praise you when you do well and to correct you when you do wrong. When you become parents one day you will realize there is no force on this earth that can keep a parent from loving their children. Know that you can always come to us with anything no matter what it is and we will always love you.
